Basic Motor Competences of Younger School Age Children
The publication Basic Motor Competences of Younger School Age Children presents extended knowledge about the basic motor competences of younger school-age children. It is based on research conducted at the Catholic University in Ružomberok, in which nearly 800 pupils from grades 1 to 4 were tested using the MOBAK 1–2 and MOBAK 3–4 test batteries. The publication analyzes the effects of age, gender, and extracurricular activities on the level of motor competences, compares the results of Slovak children with those from other countries, and confirms the suitability of the MOBAK tests for the Slovak population. The findings highlight age- and gender-related differences in object-control and self-movement tasks and emphasize the need to consider these factors in teaching Physical and Sports Education at the primary school level.
